Tune-Ups & Diagnostics at AAA Air Conditioning & Radiators, an independently owned shop at 18400 NW 2nd Ave in Miami Gardens, open since 1992. Updated .
We offer engine performance diagnostics with current scanning equipment and lab scopes. Don't keep driving with your check engine light on. Let our technicians find the root of the problem, whether you need a tune-up or a single sensor. Either one affects how your vehicle runs, including your gas mileage.
What does a code reader actually tell you?
A trouble code points to a system, not necessarily a part. A P0171 "system too lean" code, for example, can come from a vacuum leak, a dirty mass airflow sensor, a weak fuel pump or a bad oxygen sensor. We use live scan data and testing to pin down the cause before replacing parts.
What's included in a tune-up today?
Modern engines don't need the old points-and-timing tune-up. Depending on the vehicle and mileage, a tune-up usually covers spark plugs, ignition coils or wires as needed, air and cabin filters, throttle body cleaning, and a check of fluids and belts. Oil changes are covered on our oil change and maintenance page.
Can a tune-up improve gas mileage?
If worn plugs, a dirty air filter or a faulty sensor are hurting efficiency, yes. A bad oxygen sensor or a thermostat stuck open can noticeably cut your mileage.

Check engine light and tune-up questions
Can I drive with the check engine light on?
If the light is steady and the car runs normally, it's usually fine to drive it to the shop soon. If the light is flashing or the car runs poorly, stop driving when it's safe and have it checked.
How often do I need a tune-up?
Follow your maintenance schedule. Many modern spark plugs last 60,000 to 100,000 miles, but filters and other items need attention more often.
Why did my check engine light come on after I got gas?
A loose or damaged gas cap is a common cause of an evaporative system code. Tighten it, and if the light stays on after several drives, have it scanned.
