Alternators, Starters & Batteries at AAA Air Conditioning & Radiators, an independently owned shop at 18400 NW 2nd Ave in Miami Gardens, open since 1992. Updated .
Our electrical department has more than 40 years of combined repair experience. We use current testers to check the whole starting and charging system, so you only replace the part that actually failed, and we carry a full line of automotive batteries.
Is it the battery, the alternator or the starter?
- Slow crank or rapid clicking: the battery is the usual suspect.
- Starts after a jump, then dies again, or the battery light comes on while driving: suspect the alternator.
- A single click and no crank, with a battery that tests good: the starter or its circuit is the likely cause.
A load test on all three takes the guesswork out of it.
How long does a car battery last in Miami?
Heat is harder on batteries than cold. In hot climates two to three years is common, so it's worth testing an older battery before summer. If a newer battery keeps going flat overnight, the cause may be a parasitic battery drain rather than the battery itself.

Battery, alternator and starter questions
Can a bad alternator ruin a new battery?
Yes. An alternator that undercharges or overcharges shortens battery life, which is why we test the charging system along with the battery.
Do I need to replace the battery and alternator together?
Not usually. We test both and only replace what has failed.
Do you sell car batteries?
Yes, we carry a full line of automotive batteries.
