Oil Changes & Maintenance at AAA Air Conditioning & Radiators, an independently owned shop at 18400 NW 2nd Ave in Miami Gardens, open since 1992. Updated .
Regular maintenance is the cheapest repair there is. We change oil and filters using the oil type and grade your manufacturer specifies, replace engine air and cabin filters, and keep an eye on the things that leave drivers stranded in South Florida: cooling systems, batteries, belts and A/C.
How often should I change my oil?
Follow the interval in your owner's manual or your car's oil-life monitor. Many newer cars on synthetic oil go 7,500 to 10,000 miles between changes, while older engines and conventional oil often need it sooner. Most maintenance schedules treat short trips, stop-and-go traffic and extreme heat as severe service, so Miami driving often calls for the shorter interval.
Synthetic or conventional oil?
Use what your engine calls for. Many newer engines require full synthetic oil of a specific grade, such as 0W-20, and the wrong oil can affect performance and warranty coverage. We match the oil to your vehicle's specification.
What else should be checked during an oil change?
An oil change is a good time for a quick look at fluid levels, leaks, belts and hoses. Catching a cracked belt or a slow coolant leak early costs far less than a breakdown on the Palmetto in August.
Why replace the cabin air filter?
The cabin filter cleans the air coming through your vents. A clogged one cuts airflow and can cause a musty smell, which in Miami heat is often the first thing drivers notice. If your vents still blow warm after a new filter, see our car A/C repair page.

Oil change and maintenance questions
Will an oil change at an independent shop void my warranty?
No. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer can't void your warranty just because maintenance was done at an independent shop. Keep your receipts and make sure the oil meets the manufacturer's specification.
What kind of oil does my car need?
The grade and type are listed in your owner's manual and often printed on the oil filler cap. Many newer engines require full synthetic oil. Tell us the year, make and model and we'll use the right one.
How often should the cabin air filter be replaced?
Many manufacturers suggest roughly every 15,000 to 30,000 miles, but dusty conditions and heavy A/C use can shorten that. If airflow drops or the vents smell musty, it's time to check it.
