Brake repair in Miami

Pads, rotors, calipers, master cylinders and brake lines on all makes. Squeaks, grinding or a pulsing pedal mean it's time for a brake check.

Brake Repair at AAA Air Conditioning & Radiators, an independently owned shop at 18400 NW 2nd Ave in Miami Gardens, open since 1992. Updated .

How your brakes stop the car: pedal (your foot pressure, multiplied by the brake booster), then master cylinder (turns pedal force into hydraulic pressure), then brake lines (carry fluid pressure to each wheel), then caliper + pads (squeeze the rotor; friction stops the wheel).

Brakes should be checked periodically for abnormal wear. A squeak, or a pulsing brake pedal when you stop, is a sign that something in the braking system needs attention.

We inspect and replace brake pads, rotors, calipers and master cylinders, along with hoses, lines and any other brake repair your vehicle needs.

Why do my brakes squeak?

Many brake pads have a small metal wear indicator that squeals when the pad is nearly worn out. Squeaks can also come from glazed pads or brake dust. Grinding is more serious. It usually means the pad material is gone and metal is contacting the rotor.

Why does my brake pedal pulse or vibrate?

Usually the rotors have worn unevenly or picked up deposits, often from heat. Depending on how much material is left, rotors can be resurfaced or need replacement.

Why does my brake pedal feel soft?

A soft or sinking pedal can point to air in the lines, a fluid leak or a failing master cylinder. That's a safety problem, so have it checked before driving any distance.

Brake repair questions

How often should brakes be checked?

A good habit is at every oil change or tire rotation, and any time you hear a new noise or feel a change in the pedal.

How long do brake pads last?

It depends on how and where you drive. City stop-and-go wears pads much faster than highway miles. Many pads last somewhere between 25,000 and 65,000 miles.

Is it safe to drive with grinding brakes?

Not for long. Grinding usually means metal-on-metal contact, which reduces stopping power and damages the rotors quickly.
